These figures are ballparks for comparing homes, not quotes.
These figures are assembled from this home's own posted price list, and each one is rounded up to the next $5. Treat them as a way to compare homes, not as a quote. Only the funeral home can quote you.
What the county fee is
This fee is charged by the county where the death occurred, not the county where the funeral home is. The amount for this state is not on file here, so ask the funeral home.
In this list: in IL, 102 counties with no fee on file here; in MN, 10 counties charging no fee; in MO, 12 counties charging no fee. A county not in this list charges something too; ask that county or the funeral home.
The counties of the states this one touches are in the list too, each one labeled with its state, because a death does not stop at a state line.
Certified copies of the death certificate
One certified copy of the death certificate is included in every figure on this page.
This home's own price list posts a certified copy of the death certificate at $20 each. This is what the record itself costs. Ask the funeral home whether it charges anything to order them for you.
How many certified copies do you need?
Most families need more than one. Raising the count raises every figure on this page.
One certified copy is $20.
Nobody can tell you how many you will need. Banks, insurers, and pension offices each tend to want their own, so families commonly order several. Set the count and the line says what that comes to.
Tax is always approximate. Ask the funeral home for the exact amount.
