Distances are measured from the center of one town to the center of the other, because that is as closely as we can place a home whose own price list we do not hold.
What the law already gives you
A federal rule called the Funeral Rule covers every funeral home in the country. It says the home has to give you a printed general price list, item by item, as soon as you start talking about arrangements in person. It is yours to keep, you do not have to buy anything to get it, and you do not have to explain why you want it.
The same rule says the home has to answer questions about prices over the phone. You can call, ask what a direct cremation costs, and get a real number. You do not have to give your name first.
A home that does not post its prices online is not breaking that rule. Posting is not required. Handing you the list, and telling you on the phone, is.
What you can do right now
- Call and say you are comparing prices and would like the general price list. Ask them to email it or mail it.
- If they will not send it, ask what their charge is for the exact thing you are considering, and write down what they say.
- Call two or three homes before you decide anything. In most towns the same service differs by thousands of dollars, and the least expensive home is often not the one you have heard of.
- Nothing has to be decided today. A home that pushes you to sign now is telling you something about itself.
Where this page comes from
This page reports one thing only: what our own collection found when it looked, and when it looked. It is not a rating and it is not a review. Price is not quality, and the absence of a posted price says nothing about the care a family would get here.
If you work at this funeral home and your price list is posted somewhere we missed, tell us and we will read it and put your prices here.
